Differential’s Mana Azizsoltani publishes on responsible gaming

This study tested whether the Problem Gambling Severity Index (PGSI) measures the same underlying construct consistently across different demographic groups and gambling types, using a nationally representative U.S. sample of 2,972 people. Analysis supported the measurement invariance of the PGSI across demographic groups (sex, age, race, income, and education) as well as gambling modalities (online gambling, sports wagering, and casino gambling), confirming the scale's validity for comparing groups. Younger adults, sports wagerers, and online gamblers reported higher problem gambling severity, which has implications for clinical and scientific use of the PGSI as the gambling industry expands.
